THERE'S NO GULLIBLE IN THE DICTIONARY
(Anonymous) 2007-07-08 11:28 pm (UTC)(link)It kind of bothers me how many people apparently do. This community seems to have an ongoing problem with a huge number of the members swallowing ludicrous stories from anonymous sources whole and then attacking anyone who disagres.
But, um, anyway, you're either a huge liar or you have an extremely self-centered and tastelessly-fonted grieving process.
Re: THERE'S NO GULLIBLE IN THE DICTIONARY
On the third hand (what wait my secret is that I have three hands believe it) there's probably no harm done in giving people the benefit of the doubt.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-09 12:31 am (UTC)(link)Maybe this isn't true. You don't have to believe this secret. You have every right to doubt.
But maybe it is true. People may believe this because there is no reason yet NOT to believe it? These things are suppose to be anonymous, everyone who sees this isn't supposed to know WHO'S saying this secret. They want to say something without advertising their identities.
Honestly, you guys are very rude.

Like I said though, I'm just more inclined to believe it. Not necessarily that I do. :D

(Anonymous) 2007-07-09 02:22 am (UTC)(link)I think you have to be her friend, though. I copied the text.
I had just found out that a very dear friend of mine has died... Her house was broken into and she was stabbed by robbers. She has suffered so much through her life and there was no way that it should've ended like this...
She was a very sweet and kind person despite everything that happened to her; very troubled, but she always tried to smile. Everytime something happened to her she would do her best to move on. ... It's so painful of me to write this, but I feel like I want to do it for her so she has a better life wherever she is now.
All of my friends who see this, please send your respects to Iris.

Re: THERE'S NO GULLIBLE IN THE DICTIONARY
I find it kinda choice that there are absolutely 0 results for "Iris Cateline" in a Google search, too. That's a hard thing to manage these days.

Re: THERE'S NO GULLIBLE IN THE DICTIONARY
I don't know if it's true or not -- I did crazy searching all over LJ to find out who it was before I realized that someone had already done all the work for me here. In any case, I've known people in the past who have conveniently 'died' and especially since this happened to a 'troubled' girl I just have to think it's fake. I don't doubt that the people who knew her might actually believe it, but I have a close friend of mine who lost one of his best friends a few years ago in a car jacking and you can find information about it still to this day. There were reports of it all over LJ when it happened, as well. There was documentation and proof and funeral details.
This just seems like some emo girl got bored and thought making all her friends cry might be a good idea.
If she's not showing up in any google searches I'm really going to call bullshit on this one. The fact that she was allegedly 'a wonderful artist' according to the one post I found which was even shorter than this one, I found her dA page and there was nothing on it and her status was set to invisible. Hrm ...
This memorial post is so vague I'm finding the whole thing highly unlikely. No proof, no outpouring of people who knew and loved her -- I think she was supposedly French and the likelihood of this death just seems a little far fetched.

(Anonymous) 2007-07-09 08:11 pm (UTC)(link)They story just strikes all the wrong chords. The secret is tacky. I mean, if you need to make a secret, why not "I know we had our differences and I'm sorry that we fought. I wish I had a chance to tell you that before you died." Something tasteful, something respectful, not "ZOMG You were STABBED!!!" In a big old crazy font to emphasis the DRAMA! Not a good way to honor someone. Perfect way to stir up some drama though.

She does look like a Real Doll. I didn't realize that until you mentioned it. But her lipgloss even shines the exact same way in both pictures and she honestly doesn't look human. She looks plastic.
