I am more inclined to believe something posted anonymously than something posted with a name behind it, simply because people posting just for the attention generally sign it so they can be all "ANGST WITH ME LOOK AT ME I AM SPECIAL AND SPARKLY AND SHINY. AND MY SOUL IS BLACK."

Trouble is, it's absolutely viable for someone posting a fake secret to feel gratified over people woobing all over them. Especially if they were embarrassed about being attention whores.
