You and me both, OP.

I think there are a few of us who don't like them together. The plot that got them together made absolutely no sense, and there was no growth or journey to them falling for each other, one day she hated him, then he was hot in the future, so his current creepy self must be okay!

Plus their relationship completely killed them as individuals, they were both interesting and complex in the beginning but they turned into the Boringtons by the end.

All of this. Especially the Borington part. But I think it was the manipulative aspect that bugged me most.
"Hello, I am from the future where we are totally in love. My job is to seduce you so that you fall in love with Gary Stu Future!me, so that you will pine over currently creepy!me after I die, and begin this ridiculous cycle."

I agree so hard. Plus I liked creepy!odd!Simon better than the badass one.

Series one Simon was a fantastic character, in a car-crash, I-can't-look-away sort of way. Belittled, overlooked, rejected - I looked at him and saw a teenage boy bottling up a lifetime of rage and who would probably snap one day and kill someone. Savagely. 'Bad vibes' aren't in it, he gave me the absolute chills at times. (like that scene where - was it Kelly? - was passed out in a stairwell. God that was disturbing.)

And I didn't mind super!Simon, he was fun. But he wasn't Simon, you know? It's almost funny - that armpit fetish sure disappeared in a hurry when the guy came in for an actual romantic subplot ;)

THIS. Oh man, from the very beginning I knew I was going to be watching the show for Simon. All through season one is was just me groaning in second hand embarrassment or just laughing hysterically (I'm sorry, the letterbox incident was too funny, even though it was terrible) because it was so out of hand and yet so REAL. And sure, it was gratifying to see that there was a potential for him to become this amazing person within him, but we never really get to see the journey. It was just "Someone told me I could be awesome, and so I was"- which was BORING. By the time season 3 rolled around, I was saddened by how little I cared about either of them. :(

Thank God I'm not the only one who thinks this.

I liked them in season 2, but I wasn't too crazy about them in season 3. :/ It would have been nice to see the early moments of their relationship develop more.

Though I am a butthurt Kelly/Nathan shipper and was disappointed their relationship had a bridge dropped on it while this was made TEH EPIC WUV STORY. So to each their own.

I don't ship them but goddamn, the scene where simon gave alisha oral was hot as fuck.

In general their sex scenes were great. But that wasn't enough to make me like them.

I like them but I do wonder if most of the hooplah is over how good they look together/how in love with SImon or Alisha the shipper is, because it's not extremely well-developed. I may or may not have liked her with Curtis more, but I wasn't exactly devastated when they broke up.

God, same here. I loved both characters in season 1, was okay with them together in season 2 even if I didn't think it was especially well done, but in season 3 they're just incredibly boring to me. I've been struggling to get through the ep with them as the main focus for weeks now, I just can't pay attention and wander off half way through.

I mean, I'll admit that the actors do look awfully pretty together. But there was no way I could get invested in a relationship that robbed both parties of all agency.

I was comfortable with the way it happened (let's not forget they're teenagers, having really good sex can totally make you think "OMG I LOVE THEM" at that age) but not so much with how after they got together, neither of em got a single plotline that didn't involve their relationship.

Of course my shipping tendencies (see icon) don't bias me at all (not), but even so.

I love season one so much, season two is pretty awesome, season three...not so much.

I actually raegquit after the s2 Christmas special. It wasn't just that Nathan was leaving, though that was a factor. It was the change in the tone of the writing. The way it had gotten bitter and vindictive towards the characters to settle grudges with the actors. I know British shows tend to lose cast members a lot, and I have stuck with Doctor Who, and I have stuck with Being Human, and I think both of them handled it gracefully, but with Misfits I just could not. The meanness in the writing felt unprofessional and ugly.

Plus I really didn't like the powers trading plotline (though I wouldn't have minded getting Alisha some better powers), and from what I've heard in spoilers, the problem I had with it where the characters seemed to be excessively stupid or shallow just to move the plot has gotten worse. (Not that I mind stupid and shallow when treated as legit character flaws, but I'd like to think I can tell the difference between that and lazy writing.) And apparently everyone's completely forgotten about trying to save Nikki?

Yeah, whatever. The first season and most of the second were utterly spectacular and will remain favorites of mine. Others may get something worthwhile out of seasons 3+, and that's bully for them. I think leaving was the best thing I could have done, though.
