Before you get the "lol, nice?" comments: bronies really can be a good community! If you avoid all the wank, it's kind of amazing to see what that fandom does. All of the fanmusic, the charities, the general talent and the help you can get--it's pretty cool. This is coming from someone who isn't as into the fandom as I could be.

I think that can be true of the entire Internet, though. You can find communities dedicated to things that you're already into, that are close together and positive and consist of great people. Negative aspects usually aren't what defines a fandom, or a community. Even if they're sometimes frustratingly hard to find, there are little pockets of amazing scattered everywhere.
