Bomb Girls! It's a Canadian show that just aired S1, set in a bomb factory at the start of WW2. It's amazing.

i literally just watched downton abbey and would be so ready to start another period drama. is it like downton abbey, though? or generally more lighthearted?

I couldn't tell you, tbh, because I've never seen Downton Abbey. :/ I suppose they're generally similar? From what I've heard, anyway. BG deals with a lot of issues, but there are a lot of light-hearted and 'aww' moments that really nicely balance out the darker, more depressing aspects. The first couple episodes are a bit shaky, but there's excellent character development, and genuine interest shown in respecting the time period and highlighting a piece of history that is largely ignored.

Oh, awesome!

Personally, one of my favorite things about the show is that the 'lead' pairing of the show is a lesbian couple (though it really is just one of other equally amazing things this show brings to the table!).
