Are. You. Serious.

We are ALL trying to deal with a sexual-normative society. Both hypersexuals and asexuals are discriminated against because we don't match up with the sexual norm, opposites or not, we both struggle to live in this world and because of that, we should try harder to help each other out.

And it's really disgusting to see places that are supposed to be safe for the non-sexual-normative be actively hostile towards others because ~they aren't like us~. How can we talk about inclusiveness and acceptance if we're going to be this hypocritical when it comes to hypersexuals?

Well, fine, maybe they're both discriminated against but they face two completely different sets of issues.

Hypersexuals are too horny. Asexuals are not horny enough. They're both sexual minorities, but it's really disingenuous to lump them under the same umbrella and start saying hypersexuals are asexuals. They're not! They can't be! That goes entirely against the definition of asexuality.

DA
Asexuality just means no sexual attraction. It's perfectly possible to physically need to have a whole lot of orgasms every day and still experience no sexual attraction to anyone. The fact that there is no media-representation of hypersexual asexuals, and you have no idea what it is, is proof enough that we're discriminated against.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:07 am (UTC)(link)
That's autosexuality, not hypersexuality, isn't it? Because I can understand autosexuality being placed under the ace umbrella, but as soon as you want to have lots of sex with people other than yourself... you stop being asexual. Still a sexual minority, but not asexual.

Masturbation doesn't do it for everyone - for a lot of hypersexual asexuals it's a bandaid solution, and they can only feel satisfied with someone else, even if they're not physically attracted to the person.

It's not about wanting to have sex with someone else, it's about needing someone else in order to be sexually satisfied, and still not being attracted to them. Again, attraction =! who you have sex with.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Okay, this is just splitting hairs way too much.

If you're hypersexual and have sex with other people because 'masturbation just doesn't cut it' sorry, you're attracted to other people in a sexual way.

You're not asexual.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:20 am (UTC)(link)
Fuck you, you have no right to tell others how they experience their own sexuality or lack thereof. If you can't understand that you can fuck people without being sexually attracted to them, you're hopeless. Now fuck off and take your bigotry elsewhere.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:23 am (UTC)(link)
Oh, I can understand that fine. But if you're hypersexual and masturbation is not enough for you? You're not asexual. Sorry.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:26 am (UTC)(link)
Uh, some people CAN'T masturbate. Some people just can't get off if they're the ones controlling the feeling. Like how most people can't tickle themselves.

Jesus you're just being willfully ignorant rn.

"Splitting hairs"?

This is MY IDENTITY we're talking about. I can split hairs all I want, thank you very much.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:24 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, and you're making my identity look like a laughing stock with no actual parameters on it. I'm asexual. That means I'm not attracted to anyone and don't want to have sex, unless it's something that's very important to my hypothetical partner, in which case I'd do it but not enjoy it.

You? Are hypersexual and want to have sex with others because masturbation just doesn't satisfy you enough. You're not asexual.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:37 am (UTC)(link)
Are you just being deliberately dense?

We STILL DON'T EXPERIENCE SEXUAL ATTRACTION. No matter how much sex we have, as long as we don't do it because of attraction, (or primary attraction, if you're demi), we're still fucking ace. I personally need the sensation of another person fucking me in order to 'scratch the itch' for an orgasm, so to speak, because I've never been able to get the hang of vibrators or anything, but I've never experienced attraction to those who I have sex with.

To me you sound like you're in denial.

Ugh, that is exactly what my mom told me when I came out to her as ace hypersexual and she asked me to explain. Hypersexual-denial and hyper-shaming trigger me into reliving that horrible awkward experience. It's an incredibly scarring experience, and my family still brings up 'that one time I told mom all about the very specific circumstances under which I'd have sex for nonsexual reasons'. You know why that is? Because we live in a society that shames non-normative levels of sexual desire. And you're promoting it.

Have fun perpetuating that bigotry, douchefuck.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:56 am (UTC)(link)
That's awful. I was so lucky with my coming out as hypersexual. I spoke to my aunt and she was very understanding and patience. And after learning about it, she said that she was hypersexual too.

IA. I'm so fortunate to be blessed with friends who are fierce ace/hypersexual allies and are willing to accept my identity and support me even when I face marginalization.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
You're shamed for being hypersexual. I totally accept that hypersexuality is a sexual minority oppressed by the sexual majority. You're still not asexual.

You're shamed for wanting too much sex. I face ridicule from my peers and pressures from my parents because I don't want sex at all, and because people like you have ruined the asexuality label so that it means basically nothing.

In short, fuck off.

(frozen comment)

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:48 am (UTC)(link)
The itch is sexual attraction.

Hope that helps.

Can you stop being so condescending? It's very triggering.

Hope that helps.

+1

This is exactly how I feel about it. I don't want to have sex with someone else - honestly it feels dirty - but still I burn for it. It's the only way I can describe it, an all-encompassing burning need.

That doesn't mean my identity as an asexual is false.

(Anonymous) 2012-03-08 04:15 am (UTC)(link)
Autosexuals appropriated that term from people who are sexually attracted to cars. I'm not going to participate in that appropriation, thanks.

Oh, now you're just shooting piss. For fuck's sake.
