What? Icon makers do far more than "make it small." The crop of an icon can change the entire perspective of the picture, not to mention the colors, textures, or layering used. And icons are by far the most popular/commonly used type of fanart. Why shouldn't icon makers want credit?

Most of the icon posts I've seen do credit their screencap sources. Those that don't should, too, I think - although just taking caps doesn't involve the same artistic license as making icons does.
