Also inspired to join MI5 because of GitS and Darker Than Black, and got far enough through the application process that even anonymously behind a good proxy I won't go into details.
Like there's lots of things I really love about the jobs themselves, but to pretend that fandom obsessions had no say in the choice would be dishonest of me. They sparked the interest as it were.
