Like the anon in the above comment mentioned, I suppose it comes down to why you hate her. I know I often feel guilty for disliking/hating female characters, since simply finding their personalities grating etc. doesn't appear to be a "legit" reason for it.

It depends why you hate her.

Some people when you ask them why they hate her have a pretty coherent list of thing that they really disliked about her actions and/or personality that they found equally off putting in male and/or white characters. Ex. If you hate the fact that she challenged authority, you should probably hate that aspect of Krik's personality as well. Or they dislike how she snarks at Krik, and also dislike how Spock snarks at Krik.

Other people just sort of sputter and list a bunch of things that they hate about her but that they love in other characters. Ex. They hate that Uhura challenged authority in regards to her placement on the Enterprise vs. Farragut, but love how Krik "doesn't take any shit!" and "sticks it to the man!" Or they dislike how she snarks at Krik, but love how Spock snarks at Krik.
