I cried on my 11th birthday when my Hogwarts letter didn't come. Haha. I was so upset. I tried to argue with my mom and brother that it just got lost, and then my brother ('cause my mom didn't read the books) would argue back that if one didn't come they'd just send more, like they did for Harry. I screamed at him that they only did that for HP 'cause he was important, threw something at him (don't even remember what it was, but I know it was hard!), and locked myself in my room and just cried some more.

Talk about humiliating childhood memories.


And omg, I want my own personal dragon, too. I want a black one, though, with a purple sheen to it. :D

I didn't cry, I just thought they would send the letter later, because I could potentially ruin everything because I knew about ~the future~. In my mind, Potter was 11 when it was 2001 (like me), but I'd already read three books by then and knew what was gonna happen ~in the future~.
The other theory was that because I was already in a school, and there were other kids who didn't have a school to go to, so they needed the letter more.

My younger self needed a really good reason to avoid disappointment.
