For ASoIaF I watched the show first, then sped through the books afterward just because I needed to know what happened. IMO, I prefer the show, just because of the prettiness of the sets, but I think the books - at least the first three - are quite good. HP is a given. <3 I watched the first three season of SPN years ago right after the third aired, but never caught up until I mega-rewatched up through 7 last month and OMG, SO MANY FEELINGS ;_____;
BtVS was my first, and possibly my favorite show of all time. I haven't watched the new season of Sherlock yet, as I'm waiting for my sister to get back from studying abroad so we can watch it together. Everyone keeps telling me to read The Hunger Games, and I plan to, I really do, 'cause it sounds awesome, but like I said, PILES AND PILES OF BOOKS.
So, friends then? (and on that note, fav ships, characters, etc. from any/all listed fandoms? I don't judge/have problems with people who like different things than me, because I am a multi-shipper like whoa. Just curious.)

I watched the first episode of it, and liked it (the sets are indeed uber-pretty), but time crunch and accessibility killed my ability to watch more than that. But I will get to it! My list of things to watch can be comparable to my list of things to read sometimes. HP must always, always be a given. <3 There have been way, way too many feelings smashed up against each other in a mega-watch of SPN. I mean, the show can be mood whiplashy in one episode, much less four seasons pressed up against each other. O_O
BtVS was my first real fandom, the one where I ate up all the fic I could find and tried writing (terribly! but I tried), and Angel is a close second (maybe even better, given later seasons of BtVS are not my fav >_>). And dear lord, I've watched 1 and a half episodes of the new season of Sherlock, so it's just a relief to not me the one between the two of us who HASN'T watched it all. >_O
The Hunger Games really is fantastic, but if people are already telling you that, you clearly don't need to be told again xD
Friends! (Uhh...quick run-through, by topic, Sansa [character dev. you are my favorite], Daenerys, Robb, Ron Weasley, Neville, Luna, McGonagall, Dean, Bobby Singer, Xander, Giles, Buffy, Wesley, Gunn I LOVE ALL OF THEM OKAY, Peeta, Katniss...pairings, I love love love crossovers, so crossover pairings trump too many canon pairings for me to mention. I like multi-shipping quite a bit, there's maybe two characters ever I don't like to read other pairings for, and that's just apathy, not virulent hatred, SO.)

Same about epic long tv lists. I love television so much, too! Of course, IRL when I mention my bookishness, people are all, "Gosh, you must be so smart!" whereas when I mention my televisionishness (what is this word?) I tend to get, "lol dork." But, eh, I love any story I can get invested in, no matter the medium.
BUFFY AND ANGEL WERE MY CHILDHOOD. I get the rage at the later seasons, tbh, and can def see the flaws, but I will never not love them. Of everything, S4 of Angel made me want to tear my hair out and punch kittens the most. Although, IA about sometimes liking AtS better than BtVS. Angel does not get enough love.
Sansaaaaa. ♥ But yes to all of those characters! Although, I am easy and tend to love everybody. ASDFGHKL; What crossover pairings? and what characters do you not read other pairings of? I want to knooooooow. And I totally understand not being interested, or even hating for legitimate reasons, but so many people get all "THAT SHIP IS NOT MY SHIP AND THEORETICALLY INTERFERES WITH MY SHIP AND THEREFORE I HAVE TO BE A DICK AND BADMOUTH IT TO HELL" which is so ughhhh to me that I can't. I like reasonable, interesting ship debates, though. Or debates on anything, tbh.
*friends back*
MISFITS ASDFGHJKL; *KEYBOARD SMASH* nathan young is my spirit animal.

Television-ocity? I have no idea. TV-neck. People see me at work reading books all the time, and it is the most fun to bring something like METAPHYSICS IN THE STAR TREK UNIVERSE (legit reading material during HS) and watch them boggle. And stories are stories, no matter where you get them. There's light TV and there's light books, there's angst-heavy TV and angst-heavy books, so being called a dork is tantamount to being called awesomely invested in quality storylines *nods*
It's not like I hate-hate the later seasons, but it just doesn't hold up for me. Maybe part of it's nostalgia, but eh. They are not disavowed as canon to me, which some peoples do, so whatevs. Angel had the seasons-arching storyline, which I appreciate, but sometimes it made just watching one ep kind of difficult, but you could do that with Buffy pretty easily. They're both awesome, that's the endpoint.
There are very few fictional characters I hate. Rabbit from Rabbit, Run would be one of them, not too many have showed up in my fandoms. Which is nice for the peace-making heart, not so good when it comes to browsing other fanpinions and getting hate all up in your face.
TOO MANY CROSSOVER PAIRINGS. I KID YOU NOT, I WILL READ ALMOST ANYTHING. I've read crossovers between universes in which I only vaguely know one of the universes, and come out shipping them. It's ridic. I spent way too much time at Twisting the Hellmouth in my formative fan years. The only pairings I am glued to are Ron/Hermione and...there was one other. Nathan/Kelly. The former more than the latter, which is more I PREFER THIS PAIRING TO ALL OTHER PAIRINGS IN THE FANDOM than GTFO IF YOU DON'T SHIP.
*REPLACES YOUR KEYBOARD* why is everyone in that show so interesting I swear. Even Curtis. I don't mean that in a mean way, I just mean I look at him and he has emotions and a storyline, it's just all I see is =8O when he does his power-thing.

METAPHYSICS IN THE STAR TREK UNIVERSE. I would instantly fall in geeky love with someone if I saw them reading that at work. Though, my Star Trek knowledge only extends as far as the reboot, and my recollection of that extends to something along the lines of 'ZACHARY QUINTO BEING A BAMF EXPLOSIONS EXPLOSIONS EXPLOSIONS MORE ZQ YAY.' Which, honestly, made it a good movie in my book.
No, I completely get it. And yes to seasons-arching storylines, but what they did to my bb Cordelia (even though it was for understandable reasons, given Charisma's pregnancy) was such a slap in the face. Still, any problems I have with either show will always be out-shined by their sheer general fantasticness.
I HAVE DIFFICULTY WITH CROSSOVERS TBH. I find that some verses just do not blend, although other times I will come across a fic where the author combines things so flawlessly that I fall down weeping with crossover-love. Oh, but Twisting the Hellmouth! Memories, man, memories.
... My legitimate, actual, real Harry Potter OTP is Draco/Harry/Ron/Hermione. Legitimately. People always think I'm joking or crack!shipping. I am not. I read a fic for it a way, way long time ago and nothing in the HP fandom has ever topped the dynamics for me. Although, I do ship more or less any and all variations of those four characters. As far as canon goes, I adore Ron/Hermione, but I can rarely restrain myself from going crazy up-the-wall with shipping once I step outside of canon. Like I said, MULTI-SHIPPER. :3
AND OH, NATHAN/KELLY. FLAWLESS AWKWARD ROMANCE WAS FLAWLESS. I shipped Nathan up and down the block when I was in the fandom (NATHAN/SIMON, Nathan/probabtion worker Shaun, etc.) but holy hell, Nathan/Kelly was so ridiculously, wonderfully well-done.
IKRRRRR. For fuck's sake, the first season is like the holy grail of television for me, and even the worst episodes are still so good. Curtis didn't interest me that much for the first two seasons - mostly because he didn't get a lot of focus, the poor bb - but his whole turning into a girl thing in S3 was awesome and guhhhh, it's just such a good show!
you mean this face? lololol

I LOVE TREK. I'm a bad Trekkie, though, because I must've had more secondhand exposure to Trek things (fandom and books about and etc.) than the actual shows, but <3. And that movie was FANTASTICO, so I don't blame you for recalling ti as such, because that's essentially what it was, no? Plus Chris Pine getting choked a lot.
I AM ANGRY WITH HOW CORDELIA WAS WRITTEN OUT OF THE SHOW. I mean, yes, understandable because she was pregnant, but early Cordelia was flawless and then she had terrible hair and went into a coma. At least her goodbye episode was good? NGL, my affection for Angel is mostly for the first three seasons. *will never stop loving Doyle*
NO NO, I SEE YOUR POINT. There are totally some crossovers where my head tilts 90 degrees and it's epic confusion and the story itself is just...incompatible, but then there are beautifully unexpected ones or the oh-so-natural ones and I love outsider POV, especially outsider POV in which the outsider is seeing it through their own paradigm. Ahem.
*blinks* Unusual! I approve. Sometimes I read cracky pairings just to see how well it is. Years ago I loved Sinistra/Snape just because of a fic series, so as long as someone writes it well...no problem, imo. I FORGOT A CAVEAT. I love multishipping, but I just can't stomach incest. Which is problematic in SPN, heh.
THIS IS BECAUSE NATHAN WOULD TAP ANYTHING. I mean, I don't think he would necessarily enjoy tapping everything (he seemed pretty freaked out with the elderly lady) BUT he's the kind of character you have to see with everyone. It's his hair, possibly. BUT AWKWARD ROMANCE FTW. THEY TRY TO MAKE IT STOP WITH THE MOST AWKWARD FOREPLAY EVER, BUT I REJECT IT.
That is the exact face. I NEED TO CATCH UP ON SEASON 3. I have only watched up unto the Nazi episode.

But first, I would like to say this: AHAHA, I KNEW WE WOULD HAVE TO DISAGREE ABOUT SOMETHING EVENTUALLY. I legit love me some incest. Like, one of my ultimate favorite ships of all-time ever in the world is incest (it's Tony/Effy from Skins, jsyk.) And I - predictably - adore Sam/Dean, but also Dean/Cas and a crap-load of other ships from SPN. I think fandom has desensitized me to a lot things, this being one of them. Like, for example, the first time I watched Supernatural, I did not ship Sam/Dean at all. OH GOD WHAT HAS FANDOM DONE TO ME! :( I mean, I get the incest squick. Like, I love my sister, I really do, but I WOULD NOT HIT THAT.
OH GOD, I KEEP TALKING ABOUT INCEST. I AM PROBABLY SQUICKING THE FUCK OUT OF YOU RN. I'll go to sleep.
But first, let me shamelssly point you in the direction of my thoughts on misfits ships (http://youremyqueen.livejournal.com/1496.html#cutid1) (from before season three aired, though.)
AND A GOOD DAY TO YOU. ♥
