To the people who pictured Jo as tall/muscular, remember that she won her games by pretending to be weak. If she were built and physically intimidating, that wouldn't have worked nearly as well. I've always pictured light but solid (like how I pictured Clove, thanks Isabelle Fuhrman). I don't see her as white, and definitely not blond, but my image isn't specific enough to be too irked by casting at this point. I just want acting talent.

I don't think so, but I don't have the book with me to check. I wouldn't lose my shit if they cast a blond; it's just not how I see her. I do think it makes much more sense for her to be small, though. I think people forget that she had to be capable of playing the "boo-hoo, poor little me, cry cry" card. People wouldn't believe that for a second coming from, say, Glimmer.

I imagine her as having been short and skinny during her first Games (leading everyone to think she was a weakling) but having some skills with an axe and upper body strength that she hid from everyone else. Then, by the time of the Third Quarter Quell, she'd probably put on more actual weight and muscle, having more access to food. But I still think she was more on the petite side.
