I don't have trouble finding fics to read and I really don't care where I read them from, but when it comes to posting my own fics I only do it at ff.net. I've figured that by doing that I'll forever be considered either a 13-year old or a really bad writer, but who cares. So far it's the only user friendly fanfiction archive in the whole web, especially because it gives all the writers equal chances of success and exists solely for fanfiction. I don’t have to be an interesting person there to get my fics read, like the trend seems to be in LJ. I don’t have to guess which tags would be suitable, because it’s simple. I can just write, reply to all the feedback I get and easily follow how liked my stories are overall.

Oh, and just as you know, it's not like every fic there is bad. It's just that they're average. I actually like reading those fics and leaving constructive criticism and tips for the writer in order to help them get better, more than I like reading a fic from somebody's personal blog in order to praise them to high heavens.

I'm with you on this. I hate html coding fics for LJ. I hate AO3's interface-- it grates on me, too much work to post a simple story that's 100x easier to put up on FFN-- and I just prefer FFN. I have something like 400 fics posted there, I rarely delete anything...I guess I just love what I'm used to!
