On the second point, I'm actually the opposite. I'm not sure why but I can't read anything on FFN without getting a terrible headache. I read fic online all the time, and it's never been a problem on any other site o.O;
Their logo is pretty neat though.

There have definitely been some fics I couldn't read on FFN, mostly because of the formatting of the fic, so I guess it's just a matter of preferences + formatting of the individual fic.

This is true :)

Not sure if it will work for you, but I browse ffnet in mobile mode to avoid getting headaches from the worst font. Then I change window size accordingly. Maybe give it a try? Just replace the www with m

Paragraphs on ff.net are a lot wider than they are in books/other text formats. It's pretty hard to get used to unless you resize your browser.

On the top of the page, you can choose between full, 3/4 and 1/2 to adjust the width of the paragraphs to suit your tastes. I prefer them at 1/2 because the default is so wide that it makes most paragraphs just one or two lines long, and I hate reading that.

I have the same problem with FF.net. I run two Sylish scripts on the page ("Fanfiction.net - grey background, story font" and "Fanfiction.net - Less Contrast - Light Grey") and that has solved my problem. The mobile version on my Nook also doesn't bother me. Maybe something like that could help you? It sucks so bad to get migraines from your computer...

Fanfiction.net gives me headaches, too, but not bad ones.
