I ship Romana/Doctor. I ship Rose/Doctor. And I was actually on my way to shipping River/Doctor until the second-half of the 6th season happened.

It has nothing to do with Rose or 10 or whining for RTD to come back (because face it, he had his share of writing problems too), but rather because Moffat focused too much IMHO on making River such an important part of the plot that she pretty much ceased being an autonomous character and just started doing things (and having backstory revelations) as the plot needed. And it was a trainwreck of a plot which meant it equally affected my views of her as a character. And it can all pretty much be summed up through this:
