(Anonymous) 2012-04-16 01:23 am (UTC)(link)I have no issue with people writing for a hobby regardless of skill (I enjoy it myself and do not consider myself good at all) but the issue I have is people put themselves and their writing out their to be judged ("constructive criticism welcome") and then have a fit when anybody gives any kind of suggestion ("omg stop flaming"). Obviously this is not unique to ff.net, but its certainly more common.
I have steered clear of the aptly named Pit for years now, so perhaps things have changed since then, but when comparing lj and ff.net I have to hit the back button considerably less on lj. I will say that the system for finding fics on ff.net is very handy though- being able to sort by character/ship etc.
