"...there are concerns about stuff being found by the people in the fics."

Red flag, right there. If you have to worry about their reactions, there is a complete and utter lack of respect to the person you are writing about, and you probably should not be doing it. I don't give a shit if anyone gets offended by what I am saying. It is so uncool, horrible, and utterly disrespectful to the people you are writing about I can't even describe my emotions about this.

I don't know. I think it's less that authors worry about the person's reaction than the knowledge (and possible mortification) that the person they're writing about read the fic. You could write something completely tame about them and still be freaked out if the person in question acknowledges that they've seen it. I'm not saying I completely disagree with you, but I don't think it's all black and white.

Additionally, a lot of concern about fic being found (as in the example I gave above) isn't so much the people it's about as third parties. If someone wants to read RPF about themselves, that's their prerogative; however, I don't want someone who's going to read fic and then make fun of it in a public forum. The general disdain for fandom is strong enough without fic being mocked by people who don't have any understanding of the context or culture it came from.

Or perhaps they could just flock it.

Most fic is an embarrassment to the creators, lbr. RPF is not special in this.
