Just because you're not a person of faith doesn't mean you have to be a complete ass about it. You're a jerk for encouraging the OP to do something that many people will find offensive.

It's not like this person is broadcasting it out there to every person OP meets, this is why it was posted as a secret--OP is free to do whatever they feel like within the privacy of their homes as long as they don't hurt anyone, whether you or I are offended by it or not.

Music - Any kind of music of any genre and lyrics - is art, and art can be interpreted as one pleases. Authorial intent only comes so far.

I'm not a person of faith, and normally wouldn't care about that kind of music. However the OP brought a new point of view to it and now I'm interested.

As for what people would find offensive, frankly, anyone can do whatever they want with their interpretations as long as they don't shove them on the faces of the people who would find it offensive.
