Don't get me wrong - I've been in that situation; for a few years, in fact. I put everything that was much more important on hold to toss myself into whatever fandom I was currently in. I had depression and had a shitty life IRL, and fandom/message boards/whatever was the only thing that was making me happy.
The thing you have to realize is that fandom isn't the answer to everything. You can certainly make friends and discover some great fanworks, but fandom isn't your life - and it shouldn't be, ever. And I think that the sooner you come to the realization that fandom can actually contribute to further isolation and depression, the better off you'll be.
Try slowly moving away from it. See how much time you're really spending in fandom, and try to do things here and there to pull yourself away from it. Maybe take a hiatus if you can. Just do something to correct the situation before it really hurts your life.
Don't put your life on hold for fandom. It's not a fun road to go down.
