I can see that with some type of religious songs and not for others. I love gospel music (there's nothing better than hearing sopranos fight for a high note), but for some reason new Christian "hymns" creep me out. It's like the soul is gone. It really does sound more abusive then, I think.

But honestly, you can get this with any love song ever. Or things that aren't even supposed to be love songs. Have you ever heard Spanish Harlem, famously covered by Aretha Franklin? It sounds like a celebration of grooming and I can't think of it as anything else, tbh. Get some '60s, '70s, '80s music about how hung up on a guy the singers are. Same thing.
