Eh, as much as I enjoy them I'm glad that they're not likely to be attached to this adaptation. Part of it is Cumberbatch/Hiddleston overload due to Tumblr's collective lust/the Avengers coming up a few months post-Sherlock and part of it is that I think they wouldn't be super ideal for the roles. Mind you, I have trouble picturing some of the people I've mentally fancasted in the roles. (Robert Sean Leonard as Az because he has the right look about him and Ioan Gruffudd or Idris Elba as Crowley only because Mark Shepard doesn't really have the obvious cheekbones anymore. And I want him to keep guest staring on SPN.)
And, to be honest, I'm more concerned with who they'll cast as Adam and the Them since GoT seems to have the brunt of the UK's legitimately good child actors.

-- Basically just wants Idris Elba to play everything ever.

I KNOW THAT FEEL
Though I'm sure I'll know it harder once I see The Wire because it gets to show him do ALL THE THINGS. Or so I hear.

That's pretty much how Luther made me feel despite Alice Morgan being my queen. So I can only imagine what The Wire is gonna be like, omg.

Oh man. As long as you don't mind him basically being a bad guy (but, like, one of the most interesting and in some ways sympathetic bad guys of all time), it is going to be the BEST THING. I can't even imagine how much fun it would be discovering Stringer Bell while ALREADY being an Idris Elba fan.

AND IDRIS WILL MAKE THIS SO MUCH BETTER OH MAN OH MAN
-- Is kind of jealous that you get to experience it for the first time [/weird]
I know that one, that's how I'm feeling right now since two of my favorite people on the internet are finally getting into the Buffyverse AND I HAVE A LOT OF FEELS FOR THOSE SHOWS~

Okay. I don't even know you, but I am like 95% sure you're going to think Stringer Bell is the greatest thing, WHICH IS BECAUSE HE IS. (Do you happen to like truly amazing bromances? Because it's not a spoiler to say he has an amazing one of those, too. Seriously one of the best on TV. I CAN'T with this character).

Oh, yes. Buffyverse is another one that gives me that feeling. It's like "you're going to have SO MUCH FUN."

AND THEN BE CRUSHED WITH SADNESS. For real, rewatching episodes with Tara leave me wanting to bawl my eyes out because she just so genuinely good and Alyson Hannigan's tears are my tears.

Okay. So I will freely admit that I am one of THOSE Wire fans. You know, the ones who are all "it's the best show ever," and "everyone should watch it" and "if everyone watched it we could all fix America, you guys!" And I realize that is not actually true for everyone. But you? Are going to fucking love it. Because beyond Stringer & Avon's bromance for the ages, awesome friendships are just fucking everywhere on the show. While it's not very like most cop shows, it definitely keeps the "buddy partners" dynamic with a lot of different pairs, and it is excellent stuff all around.

OH yeah. For sure. Their pain is my pain! I also have fun with that with ASOIAF -- both with people only watching the show, and with my friends who caught up with the books after me. I spent a LOT of time over the last year just laughing to myself as various people I know had their hearts ripped out over that series.

OH MAN I AM SO UNPREPARED FOR ASOIAF/GOT. I both love and hate that about the series, honestly. In the mean time, I will entertain my fantasies of Sansa and Arya being reunited and being badass royal family slaying sisters in the South and then meet up with Robb and Cat and Bran and everyone will be fine I refuse the reality of canon.

I JUST LOOKED AT YOUR PROFILE AND YOU LOVE BEING HUMAN AND OH MAN THAT SHOW IT JUST GIVES ME A LOT OF FEELINGS~ /eats cake

Also, look at our icons right now.
Which is to say: Yes, let's be friends.

This show may be worse to me in the emotional dickery department than Supernatural.

Mind you, I have trouble picturing some of the people I've mentally fancasted in the roles.
I did that with James Marsters (from BTVS, Angel, and Torchwood) as Crowley. I thought he'd be good as slick and tricky, and he has the cheekbones, but it's still hard to picture, for some reason.
I had no idea GO fancasting which such damn serious business. O.O
no subject
I hadn't thought of James! Which is odd since I just recently completed a Buffy marathon and DEM CHEEKBONES.
Neither did I! Though I should have seen it coming since it came out in 1990, giving it all that time to built up and have such a passionate fanbase.
