I can't help but think a little less of anyone who didn't think she was a bit extraneous to the point.

As far as I'm concerned, she didn't fit in the movie.

I actually do like Hawkeye but in the movie his part could have literally been played by anyone else on the planet lol He was only useful to BW's storyline.

Well, her talents are a bit different from the rest of the group. She is a more than competent fighter, but her real ability lies in intelligence gathering. So she is more a spy film character than a brawler .

Bruce, Thor, Steve, and Tony all have the ability to do out right super powered brawling. Clint and Natasha have to approach things differently. I think all the characters were used well (though Captain could use more fleshing out; yeah deleted scenes).
