Jumping Spider

This second one isn't "cute" in a traditional way, but I think it's gorgeous. It reminds me of a fluffy teddy bear, like it's made of velvet, or like a black panther spider.

When i saw the Scottish Fold i thought "what'cha lookin' at, punk?"

But the large black spider did creep me out a little. To each their own, I guess.

Is it just me, or does the jumping spider look kind of sad? D:

Also, the picture with the Scottish Fold is just begging for an amusing caption.

I hadn't thought of that, but now that I do, if kind of looks like the sad spider from the "misunderstood spider" meme.

I would caption it, but I'm pretty sure my caption would suck.

If anyone else wants to, though, I'd love to see it!

I'm okay with spiders, but huge black-haired spiders remind me of monsters I used to have nightmares about as a child. DNW.

Scottish Fold ears omg *_*

I wanna put a leash on the last spider and take it out for a walk.

I kind of do too, now, actually.

I... I'm not sure how I feel about that last spider. Its hair looks so luxurious, but I'm imagining it's pretty big and if I ever saw it in real life I'd be screaming and reaching for my stompin' boots.

Fair point. (If it helps, the wiki article on them says that they have a "reputation for being docile and gentle in temperament", and that "if provoked, they would much rather flee than attack". Apparently they are popular pets in Brazil, which I honestly didn't know until just now.) I don't know if that actually helps, though. :(

ACK! I have been screaming through this entire thread, stop it! This puppy is arghhh so cute DDDD: It reminds me of some stray puppies I saw by the roadside the other day. I wish I could've brought them home but my mum would kill me if I had any more pets :(

Well, according to wikipedia article on them, they are docile, and unlike other tarantulas, they are less likely to use their hair as a defensive weapon, and they are popular pets, so maybe if you saw one as someone's pet, you could pet it, and if you ran into one randomly, you could run away screaming?

This is a great plan! *saves for future spidery encounters*

For the record, you are the sole reason for me making my husband trap a spider and let it free outside instead of having him smash it immediately.

That last spider is scary as hell, and extremely soft-looking. I'm not sure how to deal with that, but thank you for challening my knee-jerk reaction (which is pretty much to run away screaming without even trying)? And can I just say, I think you're doing a lovely thing, posting cute animals and maybe helping people along the way (and offering puppies and kittens when the spiders scare people). Just one of those random acts of kindness, which is something to be commended, so here's me commending away.
