Is "The Incredible Hulk" any good? I've been planning on re-watching all the pre-Avengers movies, and that's the only one I haven't seen already.

It's quite fun. I liked it, but then I like stories about pretty much exactly what happens in this film. Also, Stan Lee has a slightly-more-plot-significant cameo than usual.

In terms of quality, it's probably objectively not as good as Iron Man, but I loved it.

Absolutely not. Not that it was horrible, but it was pretty 'meh.' Both of the Hulk movies were just really uninteresting and poorly executed; Avengers is the first movie I've seen where I actually liked the Hulk/Bruce Banner as a character.

(Then again, I haven't seen them in a while. Maybe my word shouldn't be taken on this one, and the worst you can do is waste a couple of hours.)

It's not on the same level as the rest of the Marvel movies, but it's fun and it sets up his storyline. Don't go looking for Iron Man or Avengers-level quality, but it is a fun romp, and I adore the two leads, so, yeah.

I actually liked it more than Iron Man. IM is fun and all, but apart from RDjr being all fabulously RDjr all over the place, it's not got much going for it. Pretty thin on story IMO. Not much of a heroes journey, and mostly just a bog standard origin story. Never got why it got so much love. I thought The Incredible Hulk was much better.

Hahaha, well, I love origin stories, so I thought it was pretty awesome. *shrugs* To each his own.

The Incredible Hulk is, but Ang Lee's "Hulk" isn't. Incredible Hulk has a nice solid story, decent acting, some fairly convincing FX, decent action scenes, plus Hulk gets to

heh, someone had html fail

Hey, once you go green, it's tough to go back...

(Anonymous) 2012-05-26 05:43 am (UTC)(link)
yeah i thought hulk was way better than incredible hulk.

/unpopular opinion

HULK THINK "THE INCREDIBLE HULK" IS OK FILM, BUT NOT GREAT. MUCH BETTER THAN ANG LEE FILM, WHICH WAS BORING AND MAKE HULK ANGRY.

HULK ENJOY "THE INCREDIBLE HULK" FOR WHAT IT IS; MINDLESS ENTERTAINMENT. HULK SAY YOU SHOULD WATCH, BUT NOT EXPECT ANYTHING SHAKESPEAREAN.

(Anonymous) 2012-05-26 12:21 am (UTC)(link)
More Robert Louis Stevenson than Shakespeare really.

The best you can say about Ang Lee is that it had nice editing and scene transitions. They were the best bits of the movie.

The Incredible Hulk theoretically follows it, but the entire Hulk origin is dealt with not even in a pre-credits sequence, but actually in the credits themselves.

I haven't seen any of the lead-in movies. I'm kind of planning on watching all of them except that one, because Banner was my favorite character from The Avengers and his lead-in had a different actor and was just generally not supposed to be as good.

Maybe I will watch it since people are saying it's "entertaining" but I expect it will annoy me because of all the differences from Ruffalo's Banner :P
