High five! I became a vegetarian shortly after I saw Avatar for the first time, but it wasn't because of Aang. He's a great inspiration, though. :)

I'm vegetarian (minus fish, eggs, and dairy) because I'm ridiculously picky about meat. I wish I had a cool or inspirational reason. Like health or Aang.

I wish I'd had some inspiration for becoming vegetarian/pescatarian.

I did it because I spent a weekend with a vegetarian friend in 8th grade and didn't miss meat the whole time, so I decided to see how long I could do it. 12 years later... People think it's weird that I don't really have a reason for not eating meat, though.

Congrats from a vegan. I loved that the series has vegetarian characters that I can relate to. The part at the end of the series when he talks about being veg to keep his ethic of not hurting anyone, that thrilled me.

Wow, I am somehow surprised that the responses to the thread are pretty much vegetarians and vegans giving themselves backpats.

And besides Aang, why are you a vegetarian? If it's to save the animals, you're not doing much to help and if it's because life is sacred (like what Aang believes), then you should just stop eating since plants are a life form too.
