Even though Naruto the series has kind of got to shit, Naruto the character (up until ~the time skip) is such an inspiration.

(I haven't read past the time skip, not really. I don't know if he still is or not. >_>;)

Agreed. For pre-time skip Naruto, at least.

I'm not too fond of him (or the series in general) after the time skip. Maybe it's just me, but the character development has been replaced by a plot that is so convoluted I have no idea what's going on anymore.

Yeah, that's why i stopped reading it. I literally don't understand what's going on, and I find that to be quite troublesome. =_=;;

The manga itself is pretty stupid by now and Naruto has made some really stupid decisions by now, but his unwillingness to give up and fundamentally positive way of looking at everything (despite the way he grew up) is something I still admire and one of the reasons he is still one of my favorite charaters.
