This is a pretty good guide to LJRP, it's a bit old, but most of it is still relative.

Although, since the whole drama about the comment change back in... winter? a lot of the LJRP community moved over here to dreamwidth. This is guide that shows the difference between DW and LJ.

Oh, and there's also this has a bunch of info about DW.

...Not all of it did, though, and the pace and mentality for the LJRP left is pretty nice for people just starting out, so they may want to start there anyway.
