(Anonymous) 2012-06-02 10:59 pm (UTC)(link)Oh, I agree. Hence the *sigh*. Tumblr is great for posting works, but sucks when it comes to the *community* aspect of a fandom. It's so hard to reply to people, or jump in a conversation. You don't even get any kind of notice when someone reblogs your post and comments unless you check the notes! Which is fine for tiny posts, but some fandoms get thousands of notes on one work if you're a moderately well known artist/ficcer. No way to scroll through *that* and have a conversation.
I guess I feel that Tumblr is making cliques even more cliquish. And it's making it difficult to meet new people.

from observation it just seemed like everyone KNEW each other if they were in the same community! you didn't have to go through all the trouble of everyone following each other, and that's ONLY if you have a small fandom...
what about doctor who? or supernatural? i haven't been able to make any tumblr friends in those areas even though they are/used to be my main fandoms.
