The other's have it pretty well covered but, just to put a couple things out there, but...It's also possible to find 1x1 rp partners to help learn the ropes of rping, and lj isn't the only place you can rp. In fact forum rps actually might be a little easier to get into the swing of since they *are* slower paced, and [despite the rep they seem to have built up in some places] there are plenty that have little in the way of post requirements, and are very beginner friendly.
