I can't read fanfiction about heath ledger one because he is dead and two because I cry if I even try, I just can't but I don't know about other dead people I've never tried

This comment brings up an interesting point about the recently dead. I'm sure you have seen historical fiction involving real people who are dead, such as Julius Caesar or Adolph Hitler. If you see Abraham Lincoln, Vampire Hunter, then that's RPF. There are even films about real crimes, such as the movie Black Dahlia, which is about Elizabeth Short, a real woman who was murdered in 1947.

Perhaps the difference with Heath Ledger is that you had an emotional connection to him when he was alive. This becomes extremely fuzzy territory. But thank you for bringing up that the subject being dead doesn't automatically make people okay with the fic.
