Look at it this way, nonnie: if you never create and post your webcomic, then of course you'll never have readers.

With so many webcomics out there now, it's difficult to be noticed. You gotta fight for it. Talk to other webcomic artists. Ask your friends and family to reblog/tweet/make wall posts/talk about your webcomic. Make promo post cards and give them away freely. Draw fanart and write fanfic for popular shows or ships and post it to the appropriate sites--and make sure your webcomic is right there for visitors to notice. Offer guest webcomics whenever someone asks.

Be reliable in your updates, and always always network.

I'm a wannabe webcomicker too, and I'm already taking my own advice. We all gotta start somewhere, right? :D

Yup, this. You have to advertise and self-promote like crazy to get noticed, and even then you have to face the fact you still might fail. It's one of the perils of being an artist. Also, try and make sure that you have a regular update schedule and keep to it. Some of the more successful webcomics I know of have very consistent updates, though some are far quicker than others.

THIS COMMENT. Right up there. Good advice.

I've been working on my own webcomic for about 2 years. We are doing well (it's Namesake, if anyone is curious), but for it to gain popularity, we had to always update on time, be kind to everyone, answer a lot of mail, tweet, use tumblr, do guest art, and invest a bit of money in advertisement. No webcomic gets popular magically. Most that do get popular really quickly are those that features jokes that get blogged all over the internet (such as Kate Beaton). When you are trying to create something that is more like a narrative story, you need to treat it like a job, and invest a lot of time, energy and money. This person obviously has an excellent comic. She probably just needs help advertising it. And by posting to fandom secrets, you helped. Well done, OP.
