Oh my God, I fucking hate people who are like "Really? You buy the Sailor Moon stuff at Hot Topic? Poser."

You know what, I was twelve when I got into Sailor Moon, and by then there was NO merchandise left in the US because no one really cared when S and SuperS was dubbed. I didn't get shit. I wanted the toys. I wanted shirts. But I couldn't get anything. I got the manga and that's it.

Now? I'm loving the fuck out of this. I wear my shirts and my belt proudly. It's the 20th anniversary, and let's celebrate it, not put it down. WHO CARES where/when you got your merchandise??

I've been a Sailor Moon fan from anywhere between 14 and 20 years,
and I'm just happy to have a ton of new merchandise in infinitely more accessible ways.

I went and bought a Sailor Saturn shirt at the mall, yesterday.
SAILOR. FUCKING. SATURN.
In adult size.
Never thought I'd be able to say that.

Angsty teenager kiddies can fadwhore over whatever they want, if it gives real fans more of the stuff they want. I'm delighted.

I'm trying to think of when I first liked Sailor Moon.... I was maybe 8 years old? So 13 years, maybe? Wow =D

idk, while there's definitely an attitude of "I liked it before" I think it's good that people are still into Sailor Moon. Even though my favorite Sailor Moon incarnation is the one that's probably least discussed, and that's the live action series. :)

Ngh I wish we had a hot topic. I know the store is known to be for emos and hipsters and shit but they have some pretty cool (nerdy) stuff. Looks like I'll be hopping the border to Amerikuh soon.

Yeah, well I'm 31 and I can't wait until I have the spare cash to go blow on Sailor Moon stuff. I recently got a ring binder and it's awesome! *_*

I hate Hot Topic but I've gone in the past to buy Nightmare Before Christmas, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Hello Kitty, and Harry Potter merch, so I feel like a hypocrite. =(

Ha! Me too. I don't watch anime anymore, but I love telling stories about the 'old days' when you had to track down someone who knew someone who knew someone and then sometimes you'd watch them without subtitles with crappy tracking because that was all you could find.

Anyway. I kind of like seeing the stuff around though. It gives me fond memories...and I'll always remember my friends (and how we used to pretend to be the sailor scouts in high school...oh those were the days).

I got into Sailor Moon for a brief time when I was 14- I see no harm in this.

I'm almost that old and I liked Sailor Moon as a kid and DON'T CARE that people can buy Sailor Moon shit at Hot Topic.

Why are you 30 and still going to Hot Topic is the question I want to ask.

You are a little late if you're waiting till now to complain about it. I have a Sailor Moon notebook that I bought from Hot Topic 13 years ago.

I loved Sailor Moon since I was a little girl. This was before "oh, everybody else likes it, so I'm liking it to be cool." I was a small child and didn't really care about that. I still think fondly of it now (@20), but do I mind that people buy it at HT and are newly starting to enjoy it? Nope. More power to them.

I remember watching Sailor Moon on YTV back in the 90's with my 20 year old cousin. We loved the show but it just suddenly stopped showing after a cliff hanger and I never did end up seeing the ending to this series -- and oddly enough I haven't even been spoiled by the ending yet.

Thinking of picking up the series again with my kids now, though.

Oh, nostalgia. I used to borrow the original release of the manga from a friend. Those books were so loved, half the pages were falling out of them (or maybe it was just cheap binding?)

I understand. Idk who these kids are, but I know that when they were in elementary school they didn't constantly pretend to be Sailor Scouts and sing the theme song ;)

Wasn't sailor moon always cool? I thought that was the one anime show non-anime people knew about?
