I'm pretty sure all kink memes degenerate into this at some point. Just guessing, but I'd say it has something to do with diminishing returns or cycles or something; fans make kink memes to read porn of their characters, and new people discover the kink memes before the actual media. Those people begin writing and reading at the meme, and that draws in new people who've never seen the source material or don't really care for it much. And the cycle just repeats.

It's an excellent movie, but the premise is kind of eerie. It's a pretty powerful movie, and while I don't know why you necessarily had that strong of a reaction to the trailer, it's not the strangest movie to feel that way about.

I've always thought it could be really fun!!! But whenever I watch youtube videos of it ... the people who partake don't seem like people I'd enjoy being around. It's the same reason I don't play competitive Magic anymore. :/

I wish more people had this attitude towards black cats. My neighborhood was at one point overrun by black cats, and I've taken in three over the years (including one female who was so pretty and talked so much you really would think she was about to tell you you were a Senshi -- damn but I miss her). Every Halloween I get terrified some of the neighbor kids are going to catch my remaining black cat and torture him or something. (I'm in the US where they're considered unlucky.)

Anyway, this is a sweet and adorable secret. And I should tell you that you should consider getting a black cat if you ever want a pet. They aren't likely to be adopted because of their color, and they are the sweetest cats I have ever known. And you can name yours Luna. :D

Also, if you feel that guilty about it* have you tried listening to the band Gregorian? They do Gregorian chant versions of secular music, like Metallica's Nothing Else Matters.

*I don't think that you should? Because it's inspiration, which is good, but I'm not you and all that. :)

:( Don't know what to tell you. Is there any participation in fandom where you don't feel anxiety? Because really IMO the best way to make fandom friends is just by sheer amount of participation. Like, do you feel comfortable enough to write reviews on fic?

I think the ones that deserve disdain are the ones who get all immersed in and participate within the fandom, but do so with no interest or intent to actually get into the thing the fandom is based on. Pic related for relevant example.
