i don't hate the women either. i actually prefer the minor characters over dean/sam/cass.

but dang the show sure hates the female characters.

idk, I guess I've always had a hard time seeing the accusations, personally. I mean, don't get me wrong, most of the women characters die, but the men don't really get the better end of the stick. Gabriel, Rufus, Papa Winchester, that kinda awesome cop guy whose name I forget from Jus in Bello (HENRICKSON!!), Alistair, Lucifer (to an extent), leery of spoilers but season 7 (;_____;). I think it's the Winchester curse D: (even though most of the deaths are bad guys).

Then again, I have this issue with most of the media I consume (that phrase sounds so weird, like, OM NOM NOM MEDIA ahah). I see character deaths as servicing the story, and most of the time it feels like their natural arc-ending to me. Might just be me? I've never met anyone else who feels that way, anyway.

Personally, I'm one of those who would rather a character die anyway, cos it causes angst. Mmmm delicious angst. And that's the reason I adore Abandon All Hope so much - yes, they might have died, but they died helping out someone they loved, and they went out heroically. It felt like a perfect end to their story, to me.

AGAIN, I AM PROBABLY JUST A FREAK.
