Is there any fandom that doesn't have "was abused as a kid" as fanon for at least one character?

Which is extra stupid here in the Avengers!movie!verse. To pin that trope on a character who had a seemingly well-intentioned but clueless family, while you have one character who's dad was an alcoholic, another whose father beat his mother to death... there's plenty of child abuse to good around, without ascribing it to Loki, too. Agreed!

Just because your family meant well doesn't mean they can't screw you up. Just saying.

Doesn't really say much for Loki. He had a family who loved him (even if he didn't believe it).

Bruce had an abusive father who killed his mother.
Tony had a father who never told him he loved him (except for in an old recording years after his death)
Natasha spent her childhood training to be an assassin.

They were all screwed up, too and still managed to become heroes.

Just wanted to point out that just because a family means well doesn't automatically mean they can't do emotional damage to their child. What Loki did with it is all on him.

I never claimed that. Literally all I said was "Just because your family meant well doesn't mean they can't screw you up. Just saying."

Which is what I mean, well intentions =/= good outcome. No judgement or comment on any other part of the comment and I never claimed that being screwed up means they were abused.
