Thing is, I agree with like 100% of this except that I do think Loki has got some evil in him. I like to think he's capable of redemption, but only if he realizes there is a lot of value in human life and feels a little "Oh gods what have I done?!" and I'm not sure if I can see that happening or whether he's supposed to have realized his own place by the end of Avengers. But I think he could definitely get back to somewhere between bad and morally gray, and in some ways that's where he's the most fun.
