Meanwhile, Nazi fetishism is still a very big thing today. Nazis still exist, relatives of those murdered in concentration camps still exist, etc.

I agree about not fetishizing Nazis but I find your reasoning lacking.

I mean sure most people reading/writing Shota aren't pedophiles but there are a ton of people out there who have suffered from pedophiles. But if someone writes porn about a priest having an affair with an underage boy everyone is all YMMV and YKINMK. Victims of pedophilia also have living relatives and they are ofte still alive themselves.

Saying that it's not okay to write Nazi-porn because the people that died from the hands of the Nazis have relatives still living and the Nazis killed a lot of people and then going ahead and saying it's fine to write shota because that doesn't mean you're a pedophile. Writing Nazi-porn probably doesn't make you a Nazi either.

And yeah Nazis do exist but so do pedophiles. Relatives of those who were murdered are still alive but so are the relatives and victims of pedophilia.

Peoples have suffered by the hand of Nazis and by the hand of pedophiles and saying that one groups suffering means you can fetishize what happened to them but you can't fetishize the uniforms of the other guys is very, very hypocritical.

Can't really speak for the rest of it, but I think by "abstract fascist uniforms" AYRT meant something having to do with the same aesthetic, like what a previous anon said about uniforms that are designed to inspire terror. Not necessarily having to do with fascism, and I don't have this kink so I can't be sure, but I'm guessing, things like sharp lines, dark colors, sleek and pointy, et cetera wouldn't be necessarily specific, but would evoke something of the same "mess with me and I will put a bullet through your head" factor.

Depending on how realistically it was written, I'm pretty sure a lot of people would be disgusted and angry. A generic priest/altarboy or teacher/student fic might get relatively few complaints. A highly realistic fic that was obviously based on the actions of someone like Fr. David Sicoli or Jerry Sandusky, with a lot of details of place and characterization--basically RPF with the names filed off? I think you're underestimating how big and how angry a reaction that would get.

I swear I'm not trying to distract from the topic at hand or anything. I'm only posting this because I read your comments in this thread and you seem like the type of person the world needs more of- someone who will speak up and explain things and potentially change minds for the better. That's why I want to call attention to some terminology and put the reminder out that just as heterosexual male =/= rapist, pedophile =/= child molester.

I bring the point up because pedophile therapist was one of the careers I was conditioning using my degree for while an undergrad, so I read a lot of material on the psychology of the subject. I won't go into tl;dr about the current popular culture, but I did promise myself that I'd at least try to remind people as diplomatically as I could about the difference. I hope I didn't come off as naggy or cross or preachy or shaming because I really just want to remind people and getting preachy/naggy/shaming wouldn't accomplish that. And besides, I know that people forget/use words in ways that create different mental images for different people.
