I go back and forth, even while listening to him say it. Because if Clint and Natasha are in love with each other, mind-controlled rape would be a horrible, disgusting parody of that. But if they aren't, then sexual torture doesn't seem like something that would enter into things. Which could be precisely the reason Loki would go for that. Unless he felt like it would be more interesting to torture her without sex. Assuming, of course, that he actually meant to carry through on any of his threats in that scene at all.

It's the ambiguity of the threat that made me notice it as much as I did. He could be threatening rape, or cannibalism while she's still alive, or pulling out all her nails and then cutting off her fingers and toes joint by joint, or all of it, or none of it. And I've never felt like we know this character well enough to judge what kind of lines he does or doesn't like to cross, or if there even are any.

Oddly, Cannibalism was the first thing I thought of with Black Widow. Because as an assassin/spy she's probably used to the possibility of rape being used as a threat.

Not going "oh, yawn, rape. Whatever." just that it would be on the list of expected torture. Where as making Clint cut off pieces of her and eat them in front of her, making sure she knew that under the control he was fully aware of what was happening and unable to stop it.... yeah, she probably would never have thought something like that.
