Me, either. I find it astonishingly unlikely for the rating. It says a lot to me about where people's psyches are. Would they have thought he was threatening rape if he'd said it to a guy instead of Jane and Black Widow? I doubt it.

Ratings don't have to limit implications, especially where the writer is working hard to appeal to all ages. See Doctor Who, a family show, for oral sex joke, eg. And the Avengers has some pretty dark themes couched in a reasonably-family-friendly way.

Joss Whedon has explored rape themes before.

The fact that it was said to a woman, means that it most certainly occurred to the author. A male threatening violence against a woman, IRL or in fiction, tends to have unavoidable sexual overtones, even if not explicit. Call it patriarchy.

I absolutely see that as your worldview influencing your view of the situation. A man can threaten violence without it being sexual. For whatever reason, fandom seems to be obsessed with rape and I think that's caused fangirls to assume Loki was implying that he would rape Black Widow.

There was a discussion on the anon meme at some point on whether or not The Other was threatening Loki with rape if he failed, buried in the "he'll make you wish for something a sweet as pain" line, so, yeah, we're already reading veiled rape threats made against men in this fandom.
