I am glad you replied in a polite and understanding way. It is really appreciated. After all, I don't hold anything against you for feeling the way you do because, come on, I think we all experience that same feeling sooner or later. However, I am still glad and don't find anything wrong with the people out there that aren't afraid to represent their interests. Yeah, it can be embarrassing to me at times, but I respect their courage for doing something that I am obviously afraid to.

Also, I apologize for making that generalization of you. To clarify, I got the impression that you didn't want to be associated with open fans because others may think you are "one of them". Saying you didn't want any of them talking to you about anime or manga heavily gave me that impression, which seems sort of... snobbish and/or insecure. Correct me if I am wrong here, but that is what made me so cross towards your secret. A lot of it seemed harsh, is all.

Also, just to add: I happen to agree with what you have to say on heavier cosplayers and understand where you are coming from a lot more now that you have clarified. But then again, I think showing excessive skin isn't good with any cosplayer, no matter your body type.

I mean, hey. I wear my FMA shirt out in public. *shrug* I don't care what people think or say. If they're embarrassed, oh well, no skin off my back. Let them be embarrassed.

I'm not sure if it's so much courage as general apathy as to what others think of them. I'm like you though, embarrassed at times but there's a general respect for it. Personally, I don't want to wear my interests so openly, but that's just me.

I got the impression that you didn't want to be associated with open fans because others may think you are "one of them"

Actually it's not that I don't want others to think I'm one of "them" it's because everytime someone wants to talk anime with me here where I live, I'm on my way somewhere and don't want to stop to talk about any goddamn anime, lol. (that wouldn't fit in my secret though, so I left it out...fun to read all the replies to it though. I am now Super Nazi Bitch, HOOOOOOOO!) And I mean, of course I'm going to be annoyed and embarrassed being around the people who are total fangirl/boys who squeal and uncontrollably wapanese like there's no tomorrow, but who wouldn't? They are an embarrassment to mature fans everywhere, not just me.
