I'm sorry, but one of the few things I am absolutely skeeved by is pedophilia and attraction to people who look genuinely like adolescent children. Any sort of attraction to adolescents is dangerous, disturbing, and should not be acceptable, as no child has the mental facilities to fully agree to such a relationship. Openly portraying such a relationship as a good thing shouldn't be considered "sweet".

It's still a highly disturbing relationship, and Meyer chose to write it that way. She could have chosen the imprinting to happen at a later time. Instead, Meyer chose to infer that Jacob was sexually attracted to Bella because of the egg that would become Renesmee. Does it make sense that he suddenly finds a different sort of attraction once he sees she's an infant, with the assumption that he will wait until some indeterminate time (hopefully when she's legal) to resume the attraction? That makes no sense. No, it's pretty easy to assume he's just keeping the sexual attraction under wraps. And that's fucking creepy. Not cute. Not "sweet".

Tbh, I think Meyer has a kink for men being with small, child-like women, so it's not too much of a stretch, for me, to say that it is inferred that Jacob is attracted to a child in a romantic, if sexual, manner. Even if he's not actively thinking about fucking a baby, he's got to be thinking about what'll happen when that baby- his soulmate and sexual partner- grows up enough. The "sex with a child" aspect of their relationship is always at the back of your mind. By having him imprint on Bella's child, she's inserting her kink in a way that also resolves the love triangle (just like at the end of The Host).

I haven't read Twilight, but I did read The Host, and the relationships in it are creepy. Her kink is on display full force in that book.

Apparently I don't know what "adolescent" means. Sorry. Attraction to pre-pubescents skeeves me. I'm not saying laws that don't exactly agree with the ones in my country are wrong: I'm saying little kids in relationships with adults are not something I'm okay with.
