Do any others in yaoi fandoms get annoyed with all the "women identify with the uke therefore yaoi is like self-insert" or "rapekink is a common submissive fantasy, that's why it's so common in BL" that gets thrown around. I mean, first of all, it sounds like making excuses for things I don't think need it (either the mangaka wrote a bland lead character or they didn't, no "but he's supposed to be generic" will change that), but really, even more it's that I don't read yaoi because I'm submissive.

Hm... makes me wonder, I've seen few, but they got drowned by the overpowering submissive crowd. Maybe there is lack of dommes on the internet D:, I've always thought it would be about equal.

I see a more dommes in yaoi fandoms, or that enjoy yaoi because they like the submissive man factor. The fandoms themselves are still overpoweringly filled with more submissive or neutral people, though.

Hell yeah! That does get frustrating. I think it would be more sensible to assume that yaoi attracts so many females because it allows them the freedom to safely choose who they will identify with in the relationship. We shouldn't be assumed to identify with the uke all the time.

I like seeing men in pleasure and having the focus be on them on their feelings and their physical reactions totally overwhelming them. I like it both in weepy ukes and in weepy emotional semes, whole are much rarer to find.
