I for one would fucking love to read your reactions and feelings about characters. Please do post them and ignore the rest of fandom. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of people who feel the same way you do and you wouldn't be alone for long.

Bit confused by this secret...do you not tell your friends of this and it makes things awkward for you, or do they know and you just feel left out in general? Looking at the responses to this secret alone, there are people who feel the same way as you do, so I'm sure you could find like-minded friends. And IDK if you're interested in writing about it or not, but again, if you want to, you should. There's bound to be people who would love to read it.

In fandom you're basically never alone in your opinion, so while it might not be the majority, that doesn't mean it doesn't exist!

The more badass a male character is, the more I want to submissify him. Is that a word? I think it should be a word.

I've also found it hard to find fic where the woman is dominant but NICE. People seem to think dominant woman = sadistic hardass.

I lean more toward the submissive/bottom side of kink IRL, but the idea of being dommed by a character or celebrity doesn't usually appeal to me at all. Of course, I don't really think about myself in sexual situations much, period. I totally focus on the characters whom I see as making good subs. And on the occasions I'm interested in het kink, I go for female dominant/male sub pretty exclusively.

I do wish there were more doms/dommes online, though.

Do any others in yaoi fandoms get annoyed with all the "women identify with the uke therefore yaoi is like self-insert" or "rapekink is a common submissive fantasy, that's why it's so common in BL" that gets thrown around. I mean, first of all, it sounds like making excuses for things I don't think need it (either the mangaka wrote a bland lead character or they didn't, no "but he's supposed to be generic" will change that), but really, even more it's that I don't read yaoi because I'm submissive.

As a switch, it kind of weirds me out sometimes when loads of people talk about wanting to submit to a character who brings out my inner domme hard. Like, okay, YKINMK and I don't find it strange in and of itself/in isolation, but seriously, every dirty Doctor Who secrets blog on Tumblr is full of fantasies about the Tenth Doctor chaining the secret-maker up and making them his bitch? Wha? If I ever in my life saw a walking, talking "pull me down by my hair and shove my knees up to my chest and make me beg you to fuck me" sign, Ten would be it. If the fantasies were about his occasional unhinged power trips, that'd be one thing, but in the ordinary course of things I have real difficulty wrapping my head around him as a dom because he's just an open invitation to do terrible things to him.
