IA, it's the reason I almost never bother to look for shipping fic in some fandoms, because it's hard to find even a handful of fic that lets the manry men be the submissive needy bottoms.

Yeah, me too. There's this one fandom I'm in where I hardcore-ship these two guys - let's call them "A" and "B" - and I love it when B (who is kind of a wimp in canon) tops A (who is manly enough to star in an 80s action movie)... but it's so disappointingly rare. Most A/B fanfics have B acting like a stereotypical weepy uke, and when he ISN'T portrayed that way you can bet the comments on the fic will be full of "OMG, B is topping A! How unusual!" I find it annoying. /coolstorybro
