Set-up for racism/sexism wank? Check. A relevant fandom? Check? Unique bait (grocery store ads, merchandising)? Checkity checkinson.

Nice job, but the points you gain for the clever set-up are offset by the lack of over exaggeration and humor. 99% rather than 80% would have been more inflammatory.

I finally managed to get my hands on a Black Widow can, so I finally have one of each can.

I have like a million things of Dr Pepper on my shelves now, as they joined my Japanese DP bottles XD

I'd love to see these two in more advertising and merchandising, but then again I also feel this way about Coulson and Maria Hill.

The weird thing being of course that Natasha has A LOT of screen time and importance in the movie and still gets left out, but I guess she isn't as widely known as most of the rest of the characters either. D:

And although Fury is a BAMF, he doesn't have superpowers so I think to a lot of people that automatically makes him less interesting. (Not to me, but yea. Same goes for Natasha and Clint. Tony might not have them either but...he has the suit too, and most people adore that suit.)

I found DIET Dr Pepper with Natasha on it and was gonna be like O RLY but then it turned out there were also Diet cans with Clint on them. So I think they just relegated the characters who didn't get their own movies to the shitty sodas. :(

My assumption would be "well, of course there's less Nick Fury and Black Widow-- they don't have upcoming sequels and/or multi-film franchises."

Though that wouldn't explain if there was a bunch of Hawkeye stuff...

Why is everyone jumping on this secret?

Just because you like something doesn't mean you can't acknowlege problematic aspects, especially in the marketing and advertising side of things. Avatar The Last Airbender fandom acknowleges that Mattel wouldn't make an action figure of Katara because of sexism.
Geez, even the Lorax fandom acknowleged that the SUV tie-in was hypocritical bullshit.

And all the boys' clothing merchandise (like, t-shirts and backpacks and stuff) just has the five main boys, Thor/Cap/Hawkeye/Iron Man/Hulk; no Black Widow or anyone else. >___________> LAME. And of course there's no girls' merch at all. Eight-year-old me would have been PISSED.

Fury I can understand. He may have had a big role, but then again, so does John Jonah Jameson, Jr. in Spiderman stuff and we don't expect to see him all over merchandising. Black Widow though, there's no excuse except sexism. (It would be understandable if it was just the Big Four with movies, but it's not) I've actually seen a lot more stuff with Fury than Widow.
