(Anonymous) 2012-06-27 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)I like training the less favorite/weaker Pokémon too. It's so satisfying figuring out how to make them work with the rest of your team! I'd probably fail spectacularly if I tried to pay competitively, but I don't see why you can't have fun and enjoy the games however way you wish.

I had a strategy kind of like yours when I used to play (way, way back in the day), but I still had a Pokemon I favored and was my go to powerhouse. My brother had, like, a level 80 Blastoise and all his other Pokemon were level 15 or something. Needless to say, he didnt ascribe to team-family dynamics.

After all, hey, if it makes the game more fun for you, go for it. Personally, some of the most fun I've had in a Pokémon game was by doing solo runs with things like Rattata, Sentret, and Bidoof. I was thinking about doing a Magikarp run too eventually, but I can't decide on the game. Either way, it's hard not to get attached to the Pokémon I train and imagine my Bibarel being a massively proud and badass fighter who's like, "Fuck you, Cynthia, I'm a Bibarel," so I hear you.
And I'd be up for hearing more of your secrets. b)'')b

And we can always use more Pokémon secrets, especially if they're like this.
I don't want to creep you out or anything...

Not even kidding right now but after posting this I went in my closet and put my teddy bear in the dryer with a dryer sheet for ten minutes for the smell and snuggles.

And literally EVERY SINGLE GAME I play of pokemon I have to level up a magikarp to a gyrados. I think it's because I saw the episode where they were like 'oh, you have to treat it nice and then when it evolves it will obey you' on the show (when they were on the ship), but it's just almost compulsive for me.
I also hate catching pokemon in the wild at too high of a level; I like being able to level pokemon up.
So I guess you're not alone, anon. :)

Except for magikarps. I catch them at lv. 15.
I also felt sad for the Pokemon in the PC.
We all have our quirks :)

the weaker pokemon are my favorites :> I had a team in Pearl that was just chimecho, drifloon, cherrim, buneary and a piplup i refuse to evolve and i spent most of my time entering beauty contests because i wanted nonexistent NPCs to admire them.
it was the best.

Pokemon rules, and you should never feel lame for liking it. Never feel lame for liking the stuff you like, in general. I like some really niche (and also horrible) stuff, and I gave up apologizing for it long ago, and I am a much happier person for it!
