Now looking back at all the Nostalgia Critic reviews where he makes a cameo, I wondered how did he ended up this way (I know what happened, but I want to know WHY).

He has bipolar 2 disorder. However, I'd like to point out that is in no way an excuse for shitty immature behavior, but I can see some of it, yeah. Then, I personally don't think what Lupa did was okay. She dredged up something from a month ago just to whine about it.

Rape jokes are in no way okay if the other person isn't fine with it, but...there are a lot of rape jokes on TGWTG, and JO was okay with it/he apologized. Why bring it up a month later? IDK.

It wasn't the rape joke the problem. A lot of people from CA have said that there were a lot of email complaints about Spoony's behavior towards fans.

The problem was that when he was asked to stop being an idiot on twitter and put on a 4 week probation, he just had to keep going and going insulting everyone.

It wasn't the main reason, but I think it was partly why he flipped his lid, so to speak.

I'm not defending the guy, I think he's an immature asshat at the moment. (STILL blaming a hunk of his problems on his ex-girlfriend? No, just no.)

Yes. Calling out someone for saying they want to rape your friend is 'whinging'. Fuck you rapist apologist due bro. SPOONY SAID HE WANTED TO CHAIN A GIRL UP IN HIS BASEMENT AND HE STALKED HIS EX.

I'm not apologizing for him. I think, if Lupa was so outraged, she should have brought it up -then-, not a month later. I personally don't care for either of them, or JO (Her past homophobia annoyed me)

It seemed more like her wanting to start drama, because she knew it would set him off. I find pointless drama to be annoying, personally.

But what the hell is up with "if you don't immediately confront a rape threat it doesn't count"? Not everyone knows how to handle that situation or are safe to confront it.

This is what went down.

Spoony makes a stupid joke, basically he says "If things don't work out with your boyfriend, I'll tie you to a pipe in my basement and love you, my way"

JO wasn't offended, he apologized, it faded away.

Then one month later Lupa starts a huge post about it, basically attacking what he said. Long after it was handled.

This isn't a rape victim coming forward later on. This is a friend who, instead of making it an issue when it was relevant, waited a month and then decided to complain about it. It's two different things.

I'm still iffy on it because she may have felt conflicted and confused and just didn't want to make a bigger deal of it at the time. Did he say or do something problematic that made her feel like maybe it was a continuing problem? A month doesn't seem that long to me when concerning trying to deal with how you feel about something a friend said. Was it just a trash post or was she calling out a problem?

It was just a post trashing him. She then got her boyfriend to join in on the trashing. He handled it very poorly, but it was extremely pointless on her end.

Yeah, I didn't even see that post and I was just super uncomfortable about the specific way Lupa was going about it. I mean, Spoony was making an ass of himself in public, but that's no reason for the other people on TGWTG to ALSO fight with him IN PUBLIC.

The whole kerfluffle has just made me take a break from watching all their vids (which to be fair, I was already watching less and less of for other reasons) because all I can see now is a bunch of depressing twits shouting LOOK AT MEEEEE online.

Oh I agree. Reading how after the fact she was basically bear baiting him was extremely uncomfortable, not to mention unprofessional. Like two children fighting with each other, and the mother chooses one kid's side over the other. Just, ugh.

One, I'm not a rape apologist sweetie. Just thicker skinned. Two, I don't care for spoony, -at all- The only time I've seen the guy was in Kickasia, and some spinoff with Sage. (The only people I watch on that site are Critic, Todd, Cr, Snob, and Sage)

Also, did you get this angry when there was an -actual- rape apologist, Nostalgia Chic? I bet not. (Her defending her friend's song about rape)

The only one being an apologist here is you. Lupa did not handle it any better than Spoony. Harassing the guy on twitter about his ex, and whatnot, is just as unprofessional as him making an asshat out of himself. I'm sorry I can see both people at fault, and not just one.

Asshole. He threatened to rape people. I'm sorry if someone with female parts didn't call out someone for thinking it was okay to joke/threaten to rape a friend in a way YOU think is okay.

And I don't WATCH the Chic because hey GUESS THE FUCK WHAT? I don't like her, I thought the rape rap - which was taken down was appropriate at all. But you know what not the same? A woman doing that and a man 'jokingly' threatening to rape someone then getting upset because someone calls his ass out on it. Because guess who has more power, guess who is more likely to actually make good on such a 'joke', that's right A MAN.

Stop defending Spoony. If you don't know the back history? Then knock the fuck off defending someone that thinks saying he's always want to rape different female coworkers and calling woman C*unts is okay.

There's one thing to defend a friend, it's another thing entirely when you go to a co-worker's twitter going "Lol did your dog find you a new girlfriend, lol your ex, lol" Spoony is an asshat, and a bastard, but I don't think Lupa is the saint you think she is. Don't get me started on JO's homophobic comments, either. None of these people are completely wonderful.

The only fangirl/boy here is you, actually. I couldn't care less for Spoony, I just find blind CAPSLOCKRAGE to be pointless and annoying. I'm sorry I can see things impartially?

When it happens a month after the fact, and serves no purpose other than to shout to the public "LOOK AT ME, I'M MAD, GRRR" then yes. She was not 'offended for a friend' If she had been, she would have come out when it actually happened. She brought it up long after it mattered, it just screams "UH I NEED A REASON...OH WAIT!" type of thing :P

But it did seem to serve a purpose, to talk about rape jokes. She even said something along the lines of "Spoony agrees that it was a shitty thing, so why are you people still defending it?".

If it weren't for her going to his twitter page and throwing around comments about his exgirlfriend, and whatnot, I might have agreed with you.

I don't defend his behavior, just I don't think she was any less guilty than he was during the whole fiasco.

Don't worry, I don't care at all about any of those people, I just had seen her tumblr and thought it was odd to blame her for that entry.

The one I can remember the most is her comment asking if his dog had found him a new "mommeh" yet, which was just a low blow IMHO. Of course it got silly when he retweeted a comment about her beating her cat with a hose and thinking it was cute. It really did come across as two people who dislike each other finding things from the past to throw in each other's faces. IDK. :S

From what I've read, my best guess is that he was already depressed and had other issues, but that having a very heavily moderated fanbase of "yes men" only convinced him that he was awesome and needed no help and was totally find the way he is. And now he's trapped in a feedback loop of crap and negativity and backlash and terrible reinforcements and faux humor and... yeah.

I don't know. He has had fans try to tell him to get help/to stop his behavior/try to give him advise. He blocks them all and replies with a string of expletives. He revently found out he has Bipolar, so, hopefully he'll get on the right meds and that will curb some of it. :S
