IA that there should be more fic about him, omg. He's great. And for the record, I got into SPN fandom super-late, and I love it, craziness and all. It's really fun and silly and people are really awesome and creative; the scary ones are the minority. But even those people are pretty damn entertaining. Then again, my entire personality is basically a popcorn gif and I love watching the madness; everyone else might not feel that way. But I say jump in! Show's not what it used to be, but it's still fun, and gr8 for marathoning.

(I got into the show because of Lucifer/Mark Pellegrino. I was like "oh, I like this dude! But I'll just watch his eps and then peace out because this fandom is weird and I don't think I..." Cut to me a few months later hauling ass to Parsippany for the convention. *sigh*)

This is exactly my mentality. I love the fandom because the batshit stuff isn't scary, it's just funny. I was terrified to get into fandom because I'd heard some crazy stuff about it, but once I started watching and dipped my toes into the waters of participation, it wasn't bad at all.

Also, the fandom isn't as bad as everyone says. Crazies exist, but they exist everywhere, in every fandom. SPN's big, and so naturally there's a lot of crazy stuff. But 90% of the fandom that I've seen has been warm and awesome.

Really? Some of the stuff I've seen terrifies me in a back away slowly kinda way. I guess it's just we have a different perspective on things :)

I dipped my toe in the fandom and to me, it lived up to the reputation. So I just watch the show and occasionally comment in random places. I guess it just depends on what links you click on when you go googling.

Well, some of it is scary, as in, the stalkers and the true tinhats, but if I ignore that, it's mostly funny to me, because I try really hard to not get bothered by the stupidity.

Oh yes. Some of the craziest places are some of the first ones you see. I've only known of a couple LJ comms that were/are actually good, and if you read the comments sections of just random articles, you'll see the absolutely worst side. And tumblr. Tumblr is crazy, 90% of the time. But if you feel better not participating, more power to you! Judging from the ratings, there's plenty of people watching, and not all of them are in fandom!
