Wow. That sounds really cowardly and pathetic to me.

Guess what. Men are reading your fic. Men are reading your post right now. Some of the fic you like was probably written by men. Some of the people on your dashboard or friendslist are men. Some of the people you might correspond with about fic are men. That's the reality; deal with it.

How the hell would you know, most of the time? Why is it even an issue? If you've got interests in common, then you've got interests in common, that's it, that's the important thing. It's the Internet, no one's ever even going to see you blush, much less whatever the hell you're afraid of happening. They won't even ever know your real name unless you want to tell them.

No one is going to leave the "fandom pocket" they enjoy to soothe your hangups, nor should they.
