#6 - You are definitely not alone! I don't know where the fanworks are (to be honest, I never went looking), but the homosocial and homoerotic elements of the film came up in a screening and discussion with the filmmakers that I was privileged to attend some years ago. So your friends can laugh all they want, but it's there, baby.

8: I feel the same way, sometimes. :\ I was in the fandom until I got OotP spoiled for me; then I just stopped caring, and fell out of it for a few years. I'm considering getting back into a bit for stuff like Ginny/Luna, but I don't think I'll ever be as much of a rabid fangirl enthusiastic as I used to...which is good in a way, but kind of a shame in another.

If I had to pick Ocelot x A Snake, though, I'd totally go with Solidus. He's the SPITTING IMAGE of Big Boss. 8D Unresolved issues, wut. Also he paid for Ocelot's liquidarm-reconstruction-grafting-operation-thing. Someone needs to write that, and sometimes I feel like I should just cave in and do it myself.

I left fandom after OoTP too, but mostly because I could feel the shipwar getting uglier, and I didn't want to get mixed in that. But gosh, I had to get back in just for the goodbye. And I don't regret it one bit, it was awesome, carpet!book, ASS, I'm so glad I didn't miss this.

4. I've done it. Seriously, I tell people that I hate most anime, because I don't want them assuming that I'd watch some of the shit out there. Liking an anime does not make you automatically love all anime. If I suggested to people that liked horror movies that they must like all of them, I'd get bitched out. You can be passionate or enjoy one little corner of something without it all meaning everything to you. Sheesh.

The one on the top is Solid Snake/Ocelot (circa 2005).

The one on the bottom is NAKED Snake/Ocelot (circa 1964).

Solid Snake is a (more scientifically-accurate than most fictional clones) clone of Naked Snake, hence the resemblance/bandanna (keepsake from his clonesource). Does that make any sense?

12. Hahah!! Not quite the same, but whenever I listen to my RENT soundtrack I try and shoehorn in the Naruto cast or the One Piece cast. 'Course when most of the characters have a fatal disease, that's a bit mean, I guess. I just like to imagine them singing.
